Enterprise router market continues rebound, grows for second consecutive quarter Boston, MASSACHUSETTS, December 11, 2013-Market research firm Infonetics Research released excerpts from its 3rd quarter 2013 (3Q13) Enterprise Routers report, which tracks high-end, mid-range, branch office, and low-end/SOHO router revenue and ports. ANALYST NOTE "For a number of years, enterprises have resorted to lower-end devices at their branches to drive down costs, but the move to pull IT infrastructure out of the branch and into public or private clouds is creating new pressure on the wide area network," notes Matthias Machowinski, directing analyst for enterprise networks and video at Infonetics Research. "Now the pendulum is swinging the other way as enterprises upgrade their routing infrastructure to higher-performance routers which, in turn, is driving renewed growth in enterprise routing." 3Q13 ENTERPRISE ROUTER MARKET HIGHLIGHTS
- Following a 12% gain in 2Q13, worldwide enterprise router revenue grew another 2% in 3Q13, to $968 million
- On a year-over-year basis (3Q12 to 3Q13), enterprise router revenue is up 9%
