Cloud Service Providers Reveal Preferences for Data Center Technologies and Vendors Campbell, CALIFORNIA (June 1, 2015)-IHS (NYSE: IHS) conducted in-depth surveys with global operators and pure-play cloud service providers (CSPs) and found that 77 percent plan to have orchestration software, which brings automation to data center networks, in live production by 2017. "OpenStack is a top choice for service providers that are deploying orchestration software in their data center networks, nabbing a first-place finish in evaluations with 18 percent of service providers participating in our latest data center study," said Cliff Grossner, Ph.D.,research director for data center, cloud and SDN at IHS.
"Though the market for data center orchestration software is still in an early stage, OpenStack vendors, VMware and Microsoft are leading in installations among the service providers we surveyed," Grossner said. DATA CENTER SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS
